What is plastic injection melting line?
Melting line is one of the plastic injection defects that caused by two plastic melt flow meet together. Which appears on the surface of the product.it is one of the plastic injection molding troubleshooting,but sometimes it caused by the hot runner system because the temperature is not high enough.the plastic injection melting line is not only about the bad appearance.it can also causes the quality problem because the place where the melting line.this part of the product is particularly easily to get damaged.
The reasons that cause plastic injection melting line?
undesigned product,such as the length and the width is not in the right percentage,or the thickness is too much different.
Undesigned injection mould,like improper mould temperature、improper designed injection location and amount、not good venting、too small inner runner or size、not enough meeting for the plastic melt.
Wrong decision of the plastic,like choosing some plastic that is with very high viscosity and easy to make gas
Defect of the plastic injection machine,the machine screw or the nozzle is not heated enough, or the shooting power is too little.or the resistance of the shooting part is too big.these problems all can make the injection molding troubleshooting-melting line occurs
Hot runner troubleshooting causes the melting line defect.it can also cause the problem,if the hot runner nozzle temperature is not as high as it should be,or the diameter of the sprue is too small and cant let enough melt to get out from the nozzle.or it also can be the shot speed is too slow or even the shot pressure is not high enough.
Other reasons that cause injection molding melting line such as the plastic raw material is not dried enough etc.
After we know all of above reasons that causes injection molding melting line.we would know how to prevent the prodcut from getting this defect,and if the does happen,we will know what we should do for the hot runner troubleshooting or injection molding troubleshooting for the melting line.
